Notes: This series represents the annual total of gross capital formation at constant 2018 prices. Gross capital formation measures total investment in the economy and comprises three components: fixed capital formation (investments in buildings, infrastructure, machinery, and equipment), changes in inventories (stocks of finished and unfinished goods), and net acquisition of valuables (precious metals, gems, art, etc.).1
