Units: Peso value (base year = ₱1.00)
Frequency: Monthly
Notes:
-
The Purchasing Power of the Peso (PPP) measures the real value of the peso in a given period relative to a chosen reference period. It indicates how much goods and services one peso can buy compared to the base year.1
-
PPP is computed by getting the reciprocal of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and multiplying the result by 100. As prices increase (CPI rises), the purchasing power of the peso decreases.1
-
A PPP value below 1.00 means the peso has less purchasing power than in the base year, while a value above 1.00 indicates greater purchasing power.1
