Notes: This series represents the unemployment rate, calculated as the percentage of unemployed persons to the total labor force. Unemployed persons are those aged 15 years and over who, during the reference period, are: (a) without work, (b) currently available for work, and (c) seeking work (or not seeking work due to specific reasons such as: discouraged workers who believe no work is available, awaiting results of previous job application, temporary illness or disability, bad weather, or waiting for rehire or job recall).1
