Notes: This series represents the annual percentage change in gross capital formation at current prices, comparing each year with the previous year. Gross capital formation measures total investment in the economy and comprises three components: fixed capital formation (investments in buildings, infrastructure, machinery, and equipment), changes in inventories (stocks of finished and unfinished goods), and net acquisition of valuables (precious metals, gems, art, etc.).1
