Notes:

  • The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels in the National Capital Region (NCR) measures price changes in goods and services for the use of house or dwelling relative to the baseline year. The collection of data for the CPI is done through the Retail Price Survey.1 This covers rents, maintenance, water supply, and electricity.

  • The major commodity grouping of CPI is based on the 2020 Philippine Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (PCOICOP). This is a standard classification of individual consumption expenditures patterned after the one set by the United Nations. In the 2020 PCOICOP, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (Division 04) covers five groups: 1) actual rental, 2) imputed rental, 3) maintenance, repair and security, 4) water supply and related services, and 5) electricity, gas and other fuels.2
