Notes:

  • The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Personal Care, and Miscellaneous Goods and Services measures price changes in goods and services related to personal care relative to the baseline year. The collection of data for the CPI is done through the Retail Price Survey.1

  • The major commodity grouping of CPI is based on the 2020 Philippine Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (PCOICOP). This is a standard classification of individual consumption expenditures patterned after the one set by the United Nations. In the 2020 PCOICOP, personal care (Division13) covers four groups: 1) personal care (e.g., comb, beauty products), 2) other personal effects (e.g., jewelry), 3) personal protection (e.g., child care), and 4) other services (e.g., legal fees, religious services).2
