Notes:

  • The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Clothing and Footware measures price changes in goods and services related to clothing and footware relative to the baseline year. The collection of data for the CPI is done through the Retail Price Survey.1

  • The major commodity grouping of CPI is based on the 2020 Philippine Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (PCOICOP). This is a standard classification of individual consumption expenditures patterned after the one set by the United Nations. In the 2020 PCOICOP, clothing and footware (Division 03) covers these two groups: 1) clothing (e.g., clothing materials, garments, laundry services) and footware (e.g., shoes, sandals, repair of footware).2
