Notes: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Health measures price changes in medicines and health services relative to the baseline year. The collection of data for the CPI is done through the Retail Price Survey.1
(The major commodity grouping of CPI is based on the 2020 Philippine Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (PCOICOP). This is a standard classification of individual consumption expenditures patterned after the one set by the United Nations. In the 2020 PCOICOP, health (Division 06) covers: 1) medicines and health products , 2) outpatient care services, 3) inpatient care services, and 4) other health services (e.g., ambulance)).2
