Notes: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Recreation, Sport and Culture measures price changes in goods and services for recreation, culture and sports. The collection of data for the CPI is done through the Retail Price Survey.1

(The major commodity grouping of CPI is based on the 2020 Philippine Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (PCOICOP). This is a standard classification of individual consumption expenditures patterned after the one set by the United Nations. In the 2020 PCOICOP, recreation, sport and culture (Division 09) covers eight groups: recreational durables (e.g., cameras, camper vans, yatchs), recreational goods (e.g., toys, video games), garden products and pets, recreational services (e.g., subscription of video games), cultural goods (e.g., musical instruments), cultural services (e.g., art and music festivals), newspapers, books and stationery, and package holiday.2
